Try switching the power off completely for a few hours and see what happens.
If the light(s) flash again, make a note of which one’s and which flash and which stay on all the time.

KeymasterRe: Diplomat ADP 8132 Dishwasher
Thanks Dave had already tried that. Since posting the original query I have tried a reset by power off power on press programme button 4 times inside 3secs power off power back on. After doing this it went the soak cycle and went through programme completely. Where has previously been the super progaramme light had been flashing with the other 4 off it is now the soak programme light flashing steadily with the other 4 off.

I have one of these and all sounds normal. When the wash has finished, the light flashes. Press the button once if you wish to repeat the same program. Press several times to select different. The light should stay on without flashing. Close the door and away she goes.

Yes it is the same model, Dave.
I’ve got a post on here called ‘Diplomat ADP8132 cannot select programs’ (posted 18th Nov at 9.40am) detailing the problems I’ve had in a bit more detail.
Hope you can help.November 19, 2004 at 9:24 am #114534admin
KeymasterJust think yourself lucky, you could have had my box of horrors! Try the reset protocols which you will find somewhere on this site (might be a different thread). It worked on my d/w, but I had already bought a new machine.

If you have the left hand light flashing, there should also be another light which stays on all the time ?
Normally this will mean that there is a leak and the anti-flood device has been activated.
Can you confirm which lights stay on and which ones flash.
Dave.

I only have the left light flashing, no other lights are on.
It is only when I try the reset (press select 4 times) that I get right light (number 5) flashing and the left light (number 1) staying on. It is then that I get the machine starting with the door open as per my other post I mentioned.

Ah right, sorry I missed the bit about your other post, which I’ve read now.
It sounds to me as if the control unit may be playing up, sometimes though the dispenser can cause these wierd errors as can other short circuit components which effect the software.
Best get an engineer out to be honest or if you’re going to have look at it yourself, make sure the plug is pulled 1st.

Is the control unit the same as the circuit board?
I’ve had a quote for one of these at £140.
Is it worth buying one privately or getting an engineer out to check other if it’s other things too? Thanks for your help.

Yep, that’s the same part.
I would ask an engineer to check it, if you buy one and it doesn’t work it’s a costly mistake as you won’t be able to return it once it’s been fitted.
Pop your postcode up, there’s lots of engineers on UKW who are familiar with MFI/Smeg products.
