Hi, have been to look at the above range cooker. The customer is getting no spark to any of the ovens but the ho lights fine. I can only see one spark generator on the unit in the base marked up as an IGM61.
I have checked all the cables connections etc and all look good – could this be the faulty unit ? or is this protected by a fuse of some sort and if so where is it ? is there a separate generator for the hob rings ?
Any help appreciated – the old dear is driving me nuts with phone calls !!
Basic circuit would be power from timer relay to microswitch on thermostat to ignition unit.
Normally when you turn the thermostat it operates a microswitch which is located on the shaft of the thermostat. this allows power from the timer to reach the ignition unit and gas valve ( if fitted)
Check clock not on auto and there is power from it would be the fitrst thing to do
Hi Geoff, thanks for the info, will re-visit and check clock output – the ovens will light with a match – I do hear a “firing” sound but no spark is generated.
Hi guys, can confirm there is power from the output side of the clock, on the one connector but only when the ignition button is pressed. Does this seem right !!
Is there any way to test the ignition unit safely or is it just a swop out ?
