ParticipantHi All
About a week ago one of the paddles on the above machine fell off. We replaced it with a new one (just clicked it in). Since then the machine will only operate if it is half full or less – if you put a full load in it fills, just sits there for 5 minutes, and then empties. Half size (or less) loads work as expected.
Any thoughts ?
Cheers
Matt

😕 Very unusual. 😕
If the belt was slack it would almost certainly throw off during spin cycle, if the brushes are worn its unlikely to wash even half loads correctly.
I suppose it may be worn brushes, if they have never been changed then they are overdue.
There is a possibility that an item of clothing has got between the drum through the hole under the drum lifter, this could be binding when fully loaded.
Try this.
Make sure the machines is switched off.
Remove the mains plug or switch off at the socket.
Hold down the Rinse & Spin button whilst re connecting to the mains or switching back on at the plug. The display may show E-19, either way make a note of the error number.
Switch off at mains to cancel this test.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Belt seems fine, motor is sparking a little bit but does not seem excessive. I did wonder if something might have gone adrift down one of the holes, as we did do a couple of loads with the paddle missing (as needs must…!)
I’ll try and get an error code out in a bit – it’s mid cycle at the moment.
Cheers

I may have been a bit hasty – although it has washed a small load it has refused to spin it, so still sitting there soaking wet.
The error code displayed was E-39.
Thanks

Ok, next step. Took top off, disconnected pressure tube from sensor at top, and blew down. Reconnected.
It then happily spun the load that I started previously, and has now successfully started washing a full load.
Is it possible that a small piece of fabric may have enterned the outer tub whilst the paddle was missing, and blocked the pressure tube…? And if so, how do I remove it?

Take a look at the other end of the small pipe you blew down to see where it leads? From that point you’ll easily realise how to remove it.

E39 is not a recognised error code but all E3* codes relate to motor faults.
Its time to unplug and check those motor brushes and at the same time check the large black hose under the drum for blockages, as Martin alluded to earlier. 😉

Just an update – replaced the brushes – everything back to normal.
Thanks for all the help.
