ParticipantHello,
I have a jamm’d drum on my blomberg washer (MOD:1301ABB) and am a bit stuck on how to fix it. This is the only thing that has gone wrong with this washer that i havn’t been sure on how to fix.
Basically what has happen’d is a piece of the plastic breakers inside the drum has broken off and got between the drum and the internal part of the drum where the water drains from. So thus meaning it does half a spin gets stuck. Everything elce works fine
I have got it to the stage where i have the top front pannel popped off, the top cover off and the back pannel off, i have taken the motor off and removed the heavy placement unit which holds the shank for the drum in place which the turn wheel fixes on. I have also taken the door off and can easily take the hinge and locking part off but seemed un-necesary.
Now when i manually turn the drum it will go round (unevenly) and it is obvious that the piece of plastic is obstructing it.
I am a bit unsure how to get the drum out of its outer shell, i can see that there is a hose-clip type thing fixing and sealing the 2 together but what do i do to get one apart from the other.? do i take the front pannel off (which looks like a pain) or do i need to unclip the drum from the box unplug it all hoses electrics etc and either lift it out of the top or the back which also looks to be a big struggle!
It must me possible as somehow it went together! Please help money is tight and other than this the washer is mechanically sound.

James,
STOP!
May I suggest that you try and find where the jamming particul is and I should think that it could be at the heating element, so remove heater and have a look. I do hope that you have pulled the plug from the socket.

Hi thanks for that bit of info, yes power was unplugged!
I took out the heating element and looked through like you suggested and there doesn’t seem to be anything inside the washer to block the drum so that must not be the problem.
Its not the bearings i have tryed them and now when i look through the hole where the heating element was there is plenty of clearence between the drum and the outer shell. But when i turn the wheel, it still feels like it rubbing against sometihing and is very stiff to turn. you can hear it sraping against something as it turns.
Any suggestions as to what it could be?
thanks james

Not hearing it my self it sounds like you might as well through the machine away as I am thinking a part has come adrift from the inner drum.

hi,
That would be a terrible shame 😥 I have heard these machines are ‘very good workers!’
Perhaps its a case of trying to take it apart just to see if it is ‘fatally wounded’ 🙁
best wishes

Agh yeah seems like a massive waste to do that like but thats what it feels like you really have to force the drum round seems to be nearer the tob of the drum rather than the bottom so theres no real way of looking inside.
I would try and take it apart but its not exactly a fun job if its not going to work. Thanks for your help though this is a handy site!

In fact… No im gona try take it to pieces.
Do you know which way this washer will best come apart?
Should i take the door seal off and work from there? and does the front pannel come off? it lookss to be riveted to the side pannels!
