ParticipantHi People,
Had a machine today LGWD1045s that the door would not close. I power the machine off and the door closes but as soon as you put the power on it releases the door. If i try to shut the door it makes a grinding noise and opens. I have tried a new door lock but the same happens. It is the model with the Mains board, Control board and Display board. I suspect the control board but what do you guys think?Cheers

I just had a look at the wiring diagram and it looks as if it can be little else.
The exploded diagram is fairly poor to be honest, is the door lock a type with an integral solenoid that releases the door ? (I assume it is if it refuses to to allow the door to shut). It sounds like the pcb is permanently supplying power to it.
Part number for the main pcb is 6871EC1004N

Hi Sparky
the door lock is operated by the small mains input filter board and not the main processor pcb just check to make sure dave has give you the correct part number, i will double check it tomorrow just in case.
i had one just the opposite from your fault, would not open, the relay on the pcb was faulty took awhile to find the fault with no diagram hope this helps and does not confuse.
Cheers Bob

The part number I gave is the main pcb so don’t order it yet.
I would go with Bob though on this if he’s had a similar fault.

Hi guys
Just an update. Got the mains input filter board and put it on today and guess what. It still does the same. Ejects the door. I also found out today that the drain pump has been changed. Could this possibly have any bearing on it as the LG’s work on Khz readings. I am thinking that it might reject if the readings aren’t right. Wots your thoughts?Sparkyp

It’s unlikely the PCB is that “intelligent” to be honest.
I know, in the past, I’ve put universal Askoll and Plaset pumps in LG top and front loaders with no adverse effects.
