ParticipantI have had a few enquiries about ID cards when people have received their membership certificate.

just so we are straight ,where is the printer and the power cable, couldn’t remember if Bryan took it or had it posted to him or not .
What about having as many ID cards printed as we have photos for or ask for new [i]Scanned photos and have them ready for COLLECTION at the mtgIt would do two things
1.may just be the nudge that some need to attend
2.it will get them of our backs ..Now I know time is an issue ,but what do people think ?
Also I have had 2 PM’s along the same lines as Squadman ,I will respond with more or less what Ken put in the forum.February 1, 2011 at 8:43 am #338263kwatt
KeymasterPrinter is here along with the power pack, I’ll see if it’ll work today.
I was hoping that they’d start a debate as I’ve a few examples to throw at them which actually points at the WTA being bl00dy good value. 😉

How radical/possible would it be to tell people to bring a scanned image of themselves in a certain size and we print the card there and then will save us postage further on .
I know all are busy ,I know there are not enough hours in the day and I know that I won’t be the one doing it ,but just thought I would ask the question .
Just think how good it would be if people went away with there lanyard and an ID badge as well .
Please be nice … 😆 when you tell me to F{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}^* offFebruary 2, 2011 at 9:34 pm #338265bazza500

I got the printer working.
No cards to be found, the moving thing, but I’ve not asked the Oracle yet if the whereabouts are known.
As to doing that at the meeting… You need…
The kit.
A LAN, wired.
A PC that has the software on it, of which I know only one and it’s a custom built (by me) big chuffin’ super go-fast box that weighs about 30Kg with the drives in it. The case is aluminium, you’d think it’d be light. Heh ho..
Cards.
Photo editing.
Scanner.
Way with all to use it.
Each card, with editing even if the pic is in a format that’s useable (they usually aren’t, hence the requirement for photo editing) will take anything from 5 to 20 minutes a pop. If you get it right first time.
Unless I’m missing something out (which is all too possible in my list), that was a very polite version of the anticipated reaction.
