BlockedJust a thought as we’re half way through December already…
Are there any dates in mind for Jan? And where? Agenda? Tasks to get through? Confirmation on who’ll be coming? May as well start to throw things around now?
Ade 🙂

Yeah Killy is fine by me… I’ll be driving again, as planes scare me! 😆
Besides, when me & Steven flew up, it was 6hrs door to door, so not a lot in it!
Ade.
OR… We could have a meeting at my place in Cardiff 😀

Just a thought why are only WTA members free as per Ade’s post in the other forum ?

not sure.
What do the others pay for?
I hope WTA members don’t think their accomodation is free 😯

the problem is how do we cover our costs while also encouraging “non” members to attend and find out what we are about

Surely the only additional costs are a bit more food for the buffet which cannot amount to much.

I’ve been thinking about this…
Charging non members is a definite at some point, as other TA’s do. But while the WTA is still in nappies so to speak, the meetings should be free to anyone IMO. After all, who is going to take time off work, drive ‘X’ Miles, just for a free lunch? It would cost them more to get there than what a 5 course would cost in their local restaurant?! So anyone that attends, has a genuine interest in the WTA and our trade.
If budget is the issue, maybe drop the coffees at 10.30 & 15.30? Have ‘Free Break’ instead? I.E Bugger off for 20mins, be seated at ‘X’ time! I’m only thinking out loud here as last September, I herd the tune of £5K being mentioned per meeting. That 2x Per year, is more than we have, even with sponsors. Even before we start to re-claim fuel expenses etc for WTA Council meetings, which no one has done so far, but as this grows and meets are more frequent, will inevitably happen.
Lunch, just do sandwiches, tea & coffee! No one is there for the food, so f**k it!
That’ll probably save a grand…?
For now, I say free to all, when we get the OFT Logo, then we can start charging non members to attend, as well as put the membership fee up by a touch! £70 per year, for OFT badge, is too cheep.
Sorry for bluntness, it’s my opinion!
Ade 🙂

I did mention this previously and the cost is approx £35 per head all in.As well as parking. To be honest the costs for the first meeting were about the same per head but we got less.Which is why I asked why another big meeting within 6 months was needed.
It was muted to say that non members pay something but the amount has not been set as it would be a benefit of being a member.I feel that it may put a few people off from coming.
When you start going for just the room and 3 sets of coffee ect the costs start to rise again closer to what the deligate rate is.extra money for extra screens, stands, cables ect.We found this out with the first couple of meetings.
The last meeting we had 100+ people which in theory we should have been charged extra for which would have increased the bill for approx 55 heads but we wasnt charged for them.
The options was looked at at other venues but the costs £50+ per head was brought up plus the cost of accomadation £140 + a night was given up on.
I personally think as does kenneth that it works out about right for what we get.But if anyone can get it cheaper then please forward the details.
Bryan
