hi guys , having trouble detecting this fault with the dishwasher , it wont finish the cycle , when i came to it the tub was full of water and 22 mins left on the display , i see the aquastop is not wired up does this have much of an effect on performance ? , its 7 years old the customer sayes . i take it the aquastop cuts off the water supply when the m/c starts the cycle is that correct ? anyways i drained it manually and removed a lot of foodstuff from the sump the impeller is turning with a bit of resistance , it doesnt do the normal flicking past your finger when the magnet draws it , is that ok ? during the cycle the water gets flushed through the exchanger from the sump but causes the anti flood and the diaphram switch to operate on and off quickly as the water level reaches the top of the exchanger , could this be a solenoid prob? sorry about the long winded story , i just wanted to include as much as i could ,thanks

thanks Martin , i have a pic of it on the public forums , its not that dirty i had the exchanger off and had a look at the manifold that houses the antiflood float do you mean further down into the sump?

i had it apart earlier i cleaned all of the components , still not pumping out must be a pump problem i hear it humming at the start of the cycle only for 8 or 10 seconds then it starts taking water , and never pumps it out are these hard to replace thanks

i can hear the pump whirring and like a grinding noise very faint , i took off the door skin and the bottom plinth to gain access to the pump , twisted it off and i found a little piece of plastic spoon jammed behind the impeller , nice one put eveything back together and all is well , thanks for the help

ahh , the dreaded phone call , back to square circle , not pumping out again i hope its just a dead motor !!!

took pump motor out and bench tested , working fine ? replaced motor and it pumps out the water ? on the start of the cycle the intake of water through the matrix , this problem is happening again when the matrix fills to the top and lets the water down into the metering block assy , it starts this activation of the red float in the chamber its a round clylinder approx. 30 mm h x 30mm dia. it looks as if the water pressure cant fill the sump anymore and overflows into the chamber , is this normal? this happens on every cycle and activates the switches 4 or 5 times then gets on with it then after 2 or 3 washes the pump stops working ? customer getting annoyed , i have removed a bit of gunge from the sump to the metering assy pipe and some other detritus , the black stains on the lower part are just that its not a blockage , anyone have a clue to this beauty ? picture of assy here thanks

The pressure chamber doesn’t look that clean to me. I would suggest full removal and cleaning that will be to your advantage. Replace the drain pump too or at least double check nothing is caught around the impellor.
