ParticipantHi, I’m looking to buy a washing machine and separate condenser tumble dryer and would welcome any good suggestions. I’ve read that ISE is the best you can buy but they’re a bit out of my price range. Are there any lower range ISE models? Otherwise I was thinking Bosch for both?

hi,
ise only produce a commercial carcass machine now, which means the price reflects the quality. They used to do a ‘5’ range which was cheaper but the quality was obviously not that of the ’10’ therefore, as in the ‘title’ you only had a 5 year guarantee.
Shame you arent able to stretch to at least the ise10 washer as it is absolutlely superb  (here she goes again 😉 )
Best wishes

Hi metroplis
No lower ISE as yet, never say never though 😉
Bosch is the best option out there in the price range, however I would probably consider a sensor control vented dryer as the reliability on vented machines is far better.
I don’t know, Iv’e been beaten to it by quickwash 😆 😆
HTH 🙂

Hi don,
quick by name, quick by nature :rolls:
:help: There is a question i would like to ask about Bosch washers please, may be of interest to others too. When i was helping my mum purchase a decent washer (she only does 1 load a week so really her use didnt warrant an ise10, and with the longevity of the machine it may have outlasted her, i know awful, sure glad she hasnt got a computer!!) I asked my ‘old repairman’, retired now, how would i know the better quality bosch machines? He told me that the machines with actual model names e.g Classixx, Exel etc were the ones still made by bosch in germany, where as the machines with just numbers were manufactured else where. :hmm: Is this actually the case or is the answer only found in the numbering, as mentioned on here before somewhere? I am sure someone on here in the know will correct me/him if this is not true :lesson:
In the end mum/me went for the classixx which is now 3 years old and all ok so far.

Hi quickwash
Models starting WAA with the stub handle are the budget machines. Usually the ones with the half moon door handles are made in Bosch own factories somewhere in the EU.
The current 8kg Logixx are still made in Germany.

Participanthi don & quickwash, thanks for your feedback. V interesting to know that Bosch half moon door handles are actually made in their factories. there are so many Bosch models it is difficult to see which ones have the half moon handles.
i had a look at Which reviews and Bosch WAS28469GB Logixx came up at 73{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} Best Buy. 8kg load. The only thing is it is 66cm deep, deeper than standard kitchen worktops. Some more Bosch models also came up as Best Buys but the cons were that they were noisy. I was thinking of buying at John Lewis as they have a free 2yr guarantee. The ones that sell the best are Bosch Exxcel WAE28469UK and Bosch Avantixx WAE24366GB. Has anyone bought any of the above and are they any good?

Hi metropolis
Bosch machines are generally quiet however noise is a very subjective topic a good read here and you will see what we mean.
You may not require a large load appliance after you have a read of this article unless you have an ISE 😉
The standard Bosch guarantee is two years parts and labour irrespective of where you may purchase from. You can’t beat your local independant retailer when it comes to pre and post sales advice though
