Can anybody tell me if this cover is avalible and what it cost`s outside of joining a body such as FSB.

No idea Chris but its one of the things that really appealed about FSB membership to me as the cost of it outside the FSB probably outweighs the membership fees. I seem to remember my account having something similar that was nothing to do with the FSB being about £80 PA for a single trader for tax only, not VAT.

Re: Insurance cover against IR or VAT inspections.
Have a word with your own accountant.
He or She should have an in house scheme for such eventualities at a fixed fee usually around £120 p.a.
Worth every penny for peace of mind, even if all is tickety boo etc. they will find something that you genuinely overlooked.
