To start with, I’m not sure what model my fridge freezer is:
The manual has 7082 214-00 on the front.
On the plate, the type designation is 562144 and the Service number is 0974506/01It is winding me and my wife up with its constant beeping and is coming up with an F2 fault which seems to be an evaporator sensor fault…is this correct?
I am relatively handy in terms of DIY and used to work in the marine electronics industry so am quite happy taking things apart and putting them back together again…just as long as I know where to start looking!
There was a thread on this website that indicated that by removing the shelves and the screws then the back plate could be removed etc etc … only problem is that the internal unit of the fridge seems to be a single piece of moulded plastic with no back plate etc.
Am I correct in the fault diagnosis?
Do you sell the sensors?
How do I replace it?
Have I given you enough information for the fridge/freezer model number?Hope you can help?

hello andrew, you have a CNES3866.
f2 is fridge evaporator sensor fault, as opposed to freezer.
this can be found in the right hand corner of the fridge compartment behind a plastic cover.
you’ll need part no 9590142, which can be bought from this site.cheers.

I can not see anything on the right hand side or corner matching your description.
THe only location I can see where anything may be hiding is on the LEFT hand side located just to the rear of the light…is this what you are talking about?
Can you please confirm that the below part number is correct as it is not one mentioned in other forums on this website with what seems to be similar faults?Thank you

the sensor will be to the rear of the light. there will also be one within the light housing too. this is not the one you need to change.
the one you need to change will be held against the back wall in a plastic bracket, behind the cover.

Thank you! Would this fault also explain why our fan at the back doesnt work? It hasn’t been working for a while now, but we just ignored it as at the time, the fridge seemed to be working ok.

the fan works in series with the compressor, so when the compressor runs, the fan runs.
the fan also stops when the door is opened.
i’m not sure on this model, but some models have a little switch on top of the fan and others have a switch on the pcb, marked ventilator.
some others are automatic.
what i’m saying is make sure it’s turned on!fridge fan faults are very rare and the evap sensor in the fridge doesn’t affect the fan, unlike the freezer evap sensor, which does.

Hi, I have the same F2 problem – I have the part but not sure how to fix.
To remove the old sensor, does it pull off from the cable or does the cable have to be cut? i.e do i just cut cables and use the QUICKON-ONE union nut to connect the existing cable to the cable with the new sensor (so that the union nut stays in the fridge – I cant see how else this would work but imagine it would look a bit odd). Instructions also state QUICKON-ONE connection must not be in the interior of the appliance which I dont see – how can it not be in the interior?
Or is the sensor somehow removed from the cable and the old cable attached to the new sensor??
Sorry if I’m being a bit stupid. Any advice welcomed.

Hi,
I got a bit frustrated by it!…
(Restrictions where that I could not remove the sensor from either the new or the old, and that I could not remove the connector from the old sensor once unlugged from the pcb.)
I removed the whole cable (after taking enough screws off the back of the fridge to be able to remove the cable, but without doing any damage…top two either side, and then the next one down on the right near the hole from the compartment).
The display pannel easily unclips (but gently), and it is the green plug from the pcb that I dealt with).
I then cut the old plug off the faulty cable (giving myself about 1 foot to spare) and wired the new sensor to the old plug just behind the pcb.
Result…working fridge with no unsightly connectors, but a bit of a hastle at the time!
I’ll never win an award for clear English, but hope this makes sence?!!
I was happy to take this risk, but acknowledged that I might need to spend a lot more if I got it wrong…good luck.Re: Liebherr f2 fault
it sounds like you’ve made heavy work of it tbh!!
remove the sensor from the evaporator.
loosen the black condenser grill at the back and pull the sensor through from the inside of the fridge to the outside.
cut the cable and following instructions supplied in the kit, join the new sensor (OUTSIDE THE CABINET).
re-assemble.
the whole point of this kit is that the connector block stays in the pcb.
