I just picked up a hotpoint ultima SDW80 dishwasher in the sales (yes ok i know its a hotpoint therefore rubbish but itwas just shy of 200 quid off the RRP plus its not going to be run every day) and i have a quick question about plumbing
In my house we have the usual hot and cold hookup for a washingmachine, this leaves the hot pipe redundant – can i use this hot feed for the dishwasher?
Reason i ask is that hot water feed is pretty much immediately off the boiler (im not joking it has about 1m of copper pipe from the output of the boiler) and as i noticed the hotpoint does most of its cycles at 65-70 deg bar the prewash and delicate cycle it should in theory save the leccy bill heating already warm water to temperature rather then cold water to temperature
I know on washing machines it is best to run from cold as they wash cooler and tend not to get enough water into them to make it worth running the boiler as a fill is just what is in the pipes but is this true of dishwashers?
