The drum got jammed on the dryer and there was a strong smell of rubber coming from the machine so I am guessing the belt has snapped as when I opened the machine there was an item jamming the drum.

The drum now is free to turn but doesn’t! How difficult is it to replace the belt that turns the drum please ?

    Many thanks in advance

Have taken the sides off the machine and the belt has snapped.

I can see its a 7PH1965 that I need but I have no idea how I get a new one round the drum!

Do I stop now and call a service agent or is it something that some patience, time and advice can talk me through..

Any help would be very much appreciated as about to go on holiday and need the dryer working before I go!!!

    Thanks

    Hi,

If you’re not confident I’d get someone to do it for you as some dryer belts can be a nightmare to get on. You often have to get the back off and “stretch” the belt into place.

It’s not a a two minute job even although saying “change the belt” sounds easy.

Thanks…. I can see the motor releases to allow you to get the belt round it but I am not confident to take the drum off as I would not know whether to do this from the front or the back!.

Bosch were meant to come out on Tuesday but failed to bring the part even though it was in stock and then said they would have to rebook a week later which is no use as I am away and needed the dryer before I go!!!!!

If I could get an ISE machine by Friday I would buy one and tell Bosch where to stick it to be honest

    Thanks for that though
