ParticipantYes that scrolling screen on the right of the home page.
I find it brilliant, saves looking into all pages in case you missed anything, and if you keep an eye on the time and remember when you last visited the site, providing you are a regular visitor, you should be kept up to-date.
The reason I posted this, and call me sad if you wish, has anyone noticed a common trend on that scrolling news? There is something I picked up weeks ago, and it is always there. Looking at this today the trend still prevails and it is plain for all to see. What I’m talking about is the most common name that comes up when people are looking for help. The biggest maker/brand name causing consternation to repairers and moreover customers is always up there; and it is always the same maker/group of products
Yes you guessed it our friends Merloni. Looking today on the 20 topics there are 6 relating to problems with Ariston/Indesit products, 2 Smeg, 2 MFI & 1 Hoover. The rest are general subjects relating to the trade as a whole. This begs a question, is this due to the product? or the service being poor? There is no doubt the hit rate regards their machines are traditionally high on the site.
No wonder they always pleaded poverty.
Only an obversation of course.

Neither really considering the product outsells most on any High Street by a factor of almost 5 to 1. 🙁 So there will always be a high percentage of Merloni based queries on this site. Usually though, like the product, from people wanting something for nothing!!!… Merloni will always provide that by the same factor I reckon 😆 😆

KeymasterBeep, wrong guesses, partly.
Yes, there are issues obviously with some of either Mr Merloni’s products but type “fault code for XXXX(Brand)” into Google and you will invariably end up with UKW in the search results. Type in “fault code for diplomat dishwasher” or (IIRC) “Diplomat dishwasher” and we’re in the top ten returns from Google and a few other search engines. As more people with different appliances find the site for these reasons with different appliances/brands, then the spread will expand further I think.
As for the Diplomat stuff etc., well it’ pretty apparent to me that people searching for the meaning of the fault codes is driving that traffic here.
Only time and a bit more traffic will tell.

…and perhaps a little bit more info in ‘Public Help’ on Diplomat Error Codes 💡 at least those that possibly are contained in the ‘User instructions’ (If there is such a publication?)
Many queries come about from those who have found one of these gadgets in their recently purchased house/flat. The previous owners glad to leave the machine behind to a bemused ‘third party’ 🙂

KeymasterI have asked Martin and I’m happy to “officially” post any manufacturers publically available codes that they wish to see here.
