ParticipantGood evening gents,
Been to one of these the elliptical lcd screen type, and have a fault of no initial fill. It will do a dry tumble for about about two minutes then bring water in. I’ve tested the heater and it’s down to earth. Just wondering if this could cause the fault. Another thing I’ve noticed is that the pressure switch only has one level, which makes contact once filled. Should this be a changeover switch as the other connection neither makes or breaks.
Any help appreciated. This is one of the “why do customers……..after a bearing change and new pump I’m testing the machine, notice said fault and customer says “Oh, I forgot to mention that!!” 😯

Tony,
No doubt in saying the duff element is the problem and can and does affect the whole programme.
Change it and it should be sorted 😉 Check the state of the drum bearings though as it may have clobbered the element to caused the fault in the first place 💡

Bl***y Hell 👿 👿 👿
This one has been sent to haunt me.
Fitted the heater a week ago all fine!!
Get a recall today , machine noisy. Huh?
Fitted bearings and spider last week and now the ali bearing collar is loose inside the foam outer.
In fifteen years and hundreds, of Hotpoint calls I’ve never seen this one before 👿
AND a pulley spoke busted getting the nut off………….

Don’t think I have either Tony, was it a write off then or did you fit a new outer drum?

its a fault I don’t think I’ll ever see again and the customer is ok with it.
She even noticed my sunned expression and made me another brew!!!!Tony C
