This problem started duting the freeze last week, I thought it was the Aqua Valve and so replaced that. But it still won’t fill.

If I fill manually with a saucepan of water then it starts to wash but stays in a wash cycle forever and won’t release the tablet door.
If I then stop the cycle and restart it does drain the water then ends.

I might have screwed up the programming… I held down all 4 buttons during power up, it then entered an 8 step light sequence using the 2nd button to step through. But I ‘ve no idea what this does or how it affects the actual running.
I’ve tried all 8 steps but none seem to affect the problem.

Any thougts about the problem, it it hardware?

Or have I screwed up the programming somehow, if so how to I reset it?

    Cheers,
    Ray

    Re: Siemens SE64630GB/13 won’t fill

Follow up… I’ve verified that the old Aqua Valve was indeed faulty.
By applying 240v it on the bench, it would try to operate but no water would flow.

The new valve does operate as and I can blow air through when open.

However there is no voltage being applied to the valve when it is installed.
So the problem must be within the Dishwasher somewhere.

    Any clues?

    Thanks

    From this diagram…
    http://www.siemens-eshop.com/eshop/siem … SHOPTYPE=A
I can see that there is a :
    Regulator – Water level.
    Pressure Switch Assembly.

Any suggestoins on how to tell if these parts are working correctly or not?

    Thanks…

Ok, after a few hrs of fault tracing I found the problem.

For anyone with a similar problem…

The inlet valve (aka Aqua Valve) went faulty due to iced up cold water pipe.
The faulty valve reduced it’s resistance from 4k Ohm to around 2k Ohm, doubling the current drawn from the control unit.

Over an extended period of time, this over current damaged a Triac power switch in the control unit.

I’ve ordered a replacement Triac for the control unit from Radionics. But unless you are framiliar with surface mount part replacement, I’d advise replacement of the complete control unit.

    Hi,

Raymo99 I have just read your comments about the Triac and the Aquastop valve. I too have experienced excatly the same problem with my 15 year old Neff.

I have ordered replacment equivelent Triacs that are rated at 4 amps which should stop the problem hapenning again. However, the DC resistance of my Aquastop valve is also just over 2K. Your post mentions that the DC resistance should be about 4K. Can you shed any light on how to thoroughly test the valve? Mine works fine on the bench although it hums ever so slightly and you can feel a faint vibration if you hold it.

Any advice would be gratefully received as I think there are still a few years left in my good old Neff workhorse.
