KeymasterHi we have a Bosch SMS6032gb/14 – it stops washing and there is about 2 inches of water in the bottom. I end up pressing all the buttons and it may start for a few mins but stops again. The only way to get it to complete a cycle is to get it on cold prerinse. We dont have any instructions so it might be something that need resetting…..
Can anyone shed any light on this before we call an engineer out?? Its not exactly a “spring chicken” 😀 so if its a new control unit, i think we would be better getting a new one….
many thanks

The drain pump is either blocked or jammed!
Syphon off the water from the sump and check the lowest part leading to the pump. You should see 3 plastic slats that leads directly to the pump. If those slats are blocked, that’s your problem 😉
Other than that, set the machine to the very start of any programme and switch on, you should hear the drain pump working, if not the pump is jammed and needs dismantling.
Do not attempt repairs without first ensuring the appliance is completely disconnected from the mains supply!

thanks for the advice Martin 😀
Ok, i drained all the water out and cleaned up everything around the 3 slats(didnt seem to be a blockage). Switched it onto the prerinse cold and it finished fine – opened it up and it has some water in it, not loads as before, just enough to cover the fliter…?
So, drained the water and put it on the economy 55c wash. Its just finished and…… Its fine!!! No water, sparkly clean!!!! But for how long?
Is the pump on the way out?? I have this image from Bosch – https://quickfinder.consultens.com/qf32 … 912877.tif Which part is it and can a reasonable diy-er fit it?? (with the mains disconnected 😉 )

It’s 096355, bottom right hand corner, and yes, it’s fairly straightforward, it’s situated at the front right hand corner.
