    I’ve been searching the usual high street retail shops for American-style fridge freezers and all I find is Samsung and LG. At first glance they look ok but personally I’m not overly impressed with what I see and the reviews are not particularly great.

    I don’t want to rush in without knowing more about what I’m getting but problem is I’m under severe pressure from the wife to “just buy one…”. I’m not overly happy about spending a thousand pounds on a Samsung – there’s got to be better value out there, surely. Can anyone advise?

    The models are out of date but the advice remains the same – just search for the updated versions.

    Thanks but can’t seem to find any Admiral products, old or new, anywhere.

    I think the Admiral brand has been shelved much like their fridges. Maytag (Admiral) are now owned by Whirlpool so by buying a Maytag American Fridge Freezer it’s probably just a Whirlpool in disguise?

    I get a feeling from other forum posters that the quality of the Whirlpool (Maytag / Admiral) American f/f products isn’t that much better than the Samsung’s and LGs. Is that fair? Is there any quality out there around the £1000 mark?
