ParticipantGood afternoon,
Could somebody advise me on a problem on the above oven?
The customer reported that the fan oven was not heating, although the fan was operational.
I visited to assess and found that indeed the fan motor was not working, and no heat produced.
Therefore I tested the fan and element visually and electrically.
The motor was burned in a section, and gave a low Ohms resistance reading.
The element appeared fine, although gave a high Ohms reading.
I ordered and renewed the fan motor, hoping that was also the cause of no heat.
However, the original problems remain; the fan motor still doesn’t work, and still no heat. There are only two electrical connections, ( 1 red, 1 black) plus two earths to the motor.
I would welcome some help on ascertaining the electricity supply to the above components, as live testing is not to be carried out.
There is also a thermal cut out in the vicinity, which gave a satisfactory Ohms reading.
I need to establish what the cause is without getting an electric shock!
Best wishes,
jontymox

Hi Jontymox.
If this is the main oven with the issue please check the door lock. The lock works the internal light in the oven but also cuts out both the fan element and the fan. There should be a plastic pin that protrudes down from above the door on the right this strike is operated by the door upon closing. The pin can break if the door is allowed to slam, or, if therubber grommet is not fitted over the fixing screw.
Hope this helps

Thanks for your feedback ben–nevis,
I will inspect the door lock as advised, and agree this may well be the cause, as both components are not working for no apparant reason.
Will report back later this week.
Thanks again,
jontymox

Dear ben–nevis,
I would like to confirm that the problem relating the Fagor oven was indeed due to the door switch assembly.
One has renewed the unit today, and all is well.
Thanks again ben–nevis.
