    Guys,

Hopefuilly a dead easy one for you. Went to see a Hotpoint WD440p the other day with all LEDS on the fascia flashing, these continued until the machine was unplugged, my first question is, is this a common problem and in your opinion is the machine worth fixing, I’m lead to believe that it’s the module, was going to send it off to EMW for testing.

My second question is related to whether swapping of modules from different models of machine is possible at all. Obviously the EEPROM contains the programmed information for the machine but do Hotpoint have the same boards (with the same EEPROM) in different model numbers?

Hope that kind of makes some sense,

Your problem with the flashing of all lights is usually attributed to a failure of one of the capacitors on the main board…. Normally you will find that the top of the capacitor is domed.

I would not change the board unless it were the identical board and had then been reprogrammed by an able facitility or body.
