ParticipantWe have a Creda T620CW condenser tumble drier.
Noticed that it stopped heating up, and was all ready o try order some new thermostats (front and rear) and heating element to try solve the problem.
However i noticed in the middle of the night when i went into the dark kitchen that the water light was on (it has always been pretty dim so tricky to see) even though the water tank was empty.
Could this be the problem and not the heating element and thermostats?
What would I be looking to replace and how?
Many Thanks
M

looking at espares, apparently there are a few thermostats in the machine.
two that fit in the rear and one for the front. Any idea if i should replace both? or will it be only one in particular?
ive done a bit more googling and some say that it can also me the timer thats the problem.

Does the Empty Water help diagnose the problem to a specific part thtat needs replacing?
Only reason i ask is that it will take big effort to take the dryer out of its position as I have to take out the washing machine too to get it out of its spot. so dont want to have to put it all back to then take out again when i need to get more parts to replace!
Thanks for your advice!

If the water light is on the heater will not work.
You need to pull the machine out, remove the mains plug and test the thermostats with a suitable megger or multimeter. It is foolish just to order a load of parts without doing this.
The heating element and the front stat are less prone to failure.
The float switch will keep the water light on and the heater off if it is faulty, stuck or if the float chamber is gunged up inside.
Access to the float chamber and switch is very difficult to say the least.

Thats why i thought it may not be anything to do with the thermostats.
Do you have any idea where the float chamber and switch are, any diagrams or description you could give me?

Its right at the bottom, deep inside the machine under the drum.
You can just about see and touch it if you remove the right hand ( from front ) side panel.
Check the stats above the heater first though, getting at the float chamber and switch is not a simple DIY job.
