ParticipantWoman rang just now with 9503W-1 which has gone bang and now all lights out. I looked up module and see it’s the type with the long row of amp tag connectors along short side. Suggested she contact retailer (Argos) as she says it’s 2 yrs and 3 mths old (2 yr. g’tee :?:) and they replaced board before during g’tee period. I know I could have got at least a call out charge out of it but I find such jobs stressful and disheartening. I know it could be the RIF or lock or something else gone but TBH how likely is it not to be the module?
Where does she stand on this? Are Argos helpful in such situations? I thought Servis went down a couple of years ago. How long before we stop seeing their products? Are they off the market now?

What like a councilling service for stressed up customers that buy cheap shoddy goods from them and want a shoulder to cry on over 2 years later you mean?

..and as swift as the Titanic I believe.

The mere mention of the name Servis and I put the phone down.
Well that’s my take anyway Mike, hope you don’t mind my tongue in cheek comments by the way?:martin:
Just a thought though, EMW could fix the board easy enough I’m sure. I bet she switched the spin off before it completed the cycle, now that makes a really impressive BANG….!!!
Don’t have nightmares, sleep easy my friend.:D

😆 OK OK, maybe I’m taking it too seriously but I actually like some customers and would like to be able to offer them good advice. Have had some success with sending folks back to Currys in similar situations. Couldn’t find the board in EMW’s stock list. Wonder if they’ve decided to limit the aggro they subject themselves to?
And I would really like to know when the last “Servis” machines were sold? Isn’t some Chinese supplier going to buy the brand name, or do they have more sense?

Servis went pop October 2008. Despite all the aggro they weren’t as bad to work on as is normally said on here but now with parts becoming scarce apart from availability from one poster on here I’m using up my stock from my loft and not sourcing anymore in the way of modules but they are rarer than ever now, in fact I’m doing more quartz than the AM ones.

ParticipantMust agree have parts left sometimes get the occasional mfi call but i think this year will right off the stock and sell it on ebay. Even the likes of Connect seems to be clearing the stock.

Only Servis jobs I get are D&G, nearly always Module and instant BER due to cost, cash customers normally ask for a new machine straight away

Just did completed listings search for “Servis spares”.
17 results of which 16 successful sales!! Could be good business.

Thanks, I’ll get back to you about it if she calls me back, which is quite likely if she gets short shrift from Argos.

Hi
AWS Appliance Spares purchased all the stock from the administrators back in 2008. We have very good stock of all spares for the Hygena & Diplomat appliances. Very few parts have been made obsolete.
Also we purchased over 2000 Servis lines of spares last July. We have all the modules in stock and again Servis have made no spares obsolete.
Please contact us on 01603 412324 for more information.
Mike
I think the part number for the M9503W is 651017693 which is in stock and the price after discount is £39.19Andy
