ParticipantHello,
Today my reliable Bosch dishwasher developed a fault. The pump stopped working with water inside and burning smell coming from the back. So I opened it up and found that the electrical component plugged into the sump motor was burned. The sump motor was being pulsed every few seconds but wasn’t starting. There is no damage apparent to the sump motor ( which has the markings 5600-037552 M01789-230-240V) I think it is a Bosch part number 267773.
The part that is burned is a brown plastic container about 1 inch square with a single spade connector at one end that plugs into a white wire and two female spade connectors the other end that connects to the two middle spade connectors on the sump pump (connect to contacts labelled 2 and 4).
The only marking on this square component that I can make out is the number 036202. Clearly this square component needs to be replaced but I don’t know what it is or what its part number is. I suspect it is some type of relay. Please can you identify the component. Also, I would like to know if there is likely to be any other component impacted in the fault. For instance, it might have failed because the sump capacitor might have failed in which case it might be better to change both. But I don’t see any signs of damage to anything other than the square box component. Any advice?
Thanks,

It’s the motor starting relay (Part No 169326) so best to replace it I would suggest. 😀

Just a quick response to say thank you for your assistance and provide feedback. My first place to source the component was your goodselves, after all you helped me find out what I needed. Unfortunately you don’t stock this item and I also couldn’t find it from a large Bosch spares dealer. So I guess there isn’t a lot of demand for a starter relay. Anyway, I ordered one from Bosch directly, fitted it and my dishwasher is back to good health.
Thank you . -
