ParticipantHi I have an Indesit stand alone oven with built in hob, grill. Everytime I turn the oven on it trips the consumer unit, the hob and grill all work fine. Is this the thermoswitch? Or an element problem? Thanks

KeymasterCould be stat, changeover switch, element or wiring I’m afraid.

Little bit stumped by this, trying to get the correct oven element for an indesit KD3E1MG. Have bought one off here, when I compared the two they were nothing alike. Am I missing something here? On the one at home the two terminals are close to each other on the left hand side. The one I ordered has the terminals in the middle. Can these terminals be moved? Is this where I’m going wrong?

Do you have the UKWG part number of the element you ordered?

Hi: Sorry to have to tell you this but it appears from the number you gave that you’ve ordered the wrong element for your cooker.
Your cooker model is not listed for this element, also if you look at the picture it shows that the Terminals on this element are on the ends. My best advice would be to contact UKWG shop and ask what the correct element is for your model, explain the mistake to them & hope they will take the element back for re-fund against the replacement.February 13, 2011 at 4:00 pm #342602thegreek77

This is the element that they told me to order after giving them the correct model. Will get on to them and see if I can sort a replacement out. Cheers anyway.

To be fair to the staff at UKWG the element is listed for the KD3E1EW & should be the same for yours, obviously without a picture they have no way of comparing the shape or Terminal positions. When you say its totally the wrong shape please explain & is it definately the lower base element you need?

Starting to pull my hair out, after searching the net, I have identified the part needed for the oven it’s identical but it’s not listed as an oven element, it’s listed as a grill element, it’s the exact same measurements. Would this be the correct part? Even though it’s for a grill?

Hi: If you click on the shop@ feature listed on the L/H side, then click on Cooker / Oven parts & then Indesit spares. Check out part number 6201301 to see if thats the part you need.

Hi Specialist, thanks again, the link you’ve added is still not right. The oven element is like a letter M with the positive and neutral being next to each other.

Hi: Please explain the shape of your element for me, the part number I listed for you is for an M shaped element with both terminals on the Left hand side. Can you maybe post up a picture of your old element?.
