ParticipantGuys,
Went to an Ariston 1636 machine earlier, a flying visit didn’t allow much time to inspect the machine other then to notice it was dead, no leds, nothing!
Tested past the suppressor but had to dash after taking out the module to visually inspect. There is no sign of damage. Given the machine isn’t doing anything are there any inherent faults with this machine to be aware of??
Many thanks in advance,
Mark

It is quite a common main PCB fault. 😥

Sorry for the late response to the previous posts, fitted the replacement module the other day (EMW reported a fault on it). All looked good until I selected a cycle. The door locked and cycel started – the problem is that it was the wrong cycle, for example after choosing a wash cylce the prewash LED lights and the machine appears to start a prewash cycle.
Cancelling the program stops the machine but then after selecting ‘drain’ it is hit and miss as to whether or not it will drain or go to a prewash or wash program. All very confusing and iritating.
I contacted EMW who requested I sent the control board and module back, this was returned working – infact they kindly changed the control board to give me piece of mind.
Can any of you advice me as to where I need to be looking? Would I be right in thinking when the module carked it it might have taken the program selector with it?
I’m really scratching my head on this one.

Not seen anything like this but the control potentiometer is not that expensive, part number C00115511.
You can usually open these up to check on the condition of the contacts if you are careful.

Cheers Jim
This one was really getting on my nerves, I was trying to drain the machine after cancelling the program only to find it went into a prewash cycle filling even more!!!
Looks like Connect are out of the part.
Will keep you all posted.

Mpt special order too. Even at £14 I wouldn’t risk that without opening up the old one to check. Have never had one go. Would have thought EMW would have suggested it if it was likely. You sure it’s not just a dodgy knob, which has been pulled off then forced back on the wrong way? Or a loose connector somewhere?
