Bosch Exxcel 1400 Not Spinning ?

    Our washing machine has started finishing wash cycles with the clothes very wet. I tried a couple of programs and established the machine drains ok, and during the wash cycles the drum rotates fine. But if I try the spin only program which is nominally 11 mins, the machine drains, and the timer counts down to 10 mins, the drain pump switches off, and then the timer goes straight to 1min, and then completes but with no attempt to spin at all. I have checked the filter, and that’s clear.
    I’m baffled what is going on ? Any ideas ? ❓

    Check brushes, they’ll need replacing.

    Well I checked the brushes and they were pretty worn. I have replaced them, and it’s a lot better. The spin cycle actually runs through further now although it still seems to jump from 7mins to 1min left.
    I’m curious how the drum rotates during wash cycles ok, but not will not even try to rotate during a spin with worn brushes.
