    When our Hotpoint WF740T is switched on, all the lights (the 5 verticals, 5 horizontals, on/off and the digital display [8888]) flash rapidly for maybe 30 seconds, then it works normally. Still usable, but at risk of total failure?

    I suspected the module, and on removing it found quite a bit of carbon from the motor brushes. Cleaned it, but no difference.

    The machine is just under 5 years old. If it needs a new module, the UK Whitegoods shop lists them as obsolete and unavailable, but I’ve found one somewhere else at £111. If I go for a warranty repair, what’s the labour cost likely to be?

    Heres a tip, Google for EMW or contact a local engineer from our link below.

    A new PCB has to be programmed with a £12 smart card and you will need an £85+ card reader to use the card. :rolls:

    Refurbished board received from EMW, fitted and solved the problem. Good service from EMW. Thanks again to iadom for the tip.
