ModeratorWe have fitted several door hinges, part number 096784 and 096785 lately to cure loose closing doors on Neff single ovens and, although they have cured the problem at the time, they have all failed in the same way again, some in as little time as 2 weeks later. Anyone else having the same problem?

Check part numbers for each model, there are different versions of those hinges for the stainless doors. If you’re fitting the correct ones for the model then you’ll probably need to fit new hinge bearings 172647 too. Wizard

The B1430 that I’m having problems with at the moment has a not very firmly closing door. About a year ago the customer reported cakes not getting fully cooked on a regular basis. I did a search on here and found much contradictory advice on whether or not new hinges might help. So I let it stew for a bit and the customer did not call again. When she called me for a different appliance recently, she told me that she had solved it by :study: reading the instruction book. In there it told her how not to block rear vents by putting trays on shelf no. 2.

Well, part numbers have been from Bosch E shop for the model involved, (they are all the same as its in a development). and as far as I can see, the hinge socket on these is simply a locating bracket with no moving parts or rollers. + fitting the hinge does cure the problem initially and whats more we have done probably hundreds of these for the same fault over the years with no problems at all.
I am in contact with Appliance care over this as i suspect a faulty batch of hinges, just wanted to know if anyone else can back me up on this claim.
Thanks for the other info Mike but I think its irrelevent in this case, a flimsy closing door will let the heat out regardless of where any shelves are placed..January 31, 2011 at 2:12 pm #343005superfix

looks like we may have a crooked landlord swopping oven doors around the flats in order to get me to repair them for free! Just removed 2 hinges and they are certainly more than a month or so old. Thats south London for you!
