Hi Peter,
Can you check that model number and give us the PNC from the rating plate please? It appears to not exist!

The PNC or product number will be at least nine digits long and begin with 949 .
Rating plate is usually around the door area, often at the bottom.
Sometimes you can see evidence of physical damage on the sides of the element, it can look swollen or split.
If it looks OK then the only way to proceed is to isolate from the mains and test the element with a suitable megger or multimeter.
Coincidentally I have had to order a very similar element today for a Zanussi built in single oven. The one in the machine was fitted by me less than six months ago and has failed again. It has also had the same part replaced twice before by someone else. :rolls:

Thanks for the info so far ……………… i now have the PNC 949712289.
have inspected the grill element and there are no visual signs of damage that i can see.
Can it be removed from within the oven,? Looks as though its held with two small bolts at the rear and a screw to the roof of the oven? How would i check for damage with a multimeter or is it just a question of buying a new element and hoping for the best! Cheers pete

Hi Peter,
You’d have to meter it to see if it’s okay.
To do that, the oven needs to come out as it should be this element for the grill which is fixed by the looks of it by two bolts rear and two screws to the roof.

Just a quick update……………new element purchased via this site, arrived quickly and a reasonable price.
Fitted and working, although a little different than the original( had two fixing points to the oven roof the original only had a central screw),easy modification though.
Thanks again for the help and advice.
