I attended to the machine, the blocked drain caused problem and made the machine to stop it cycle.
The owner disconnected the machine and could not open the door. I came to look at it and manually opened it from the inside. I thought the computer got confused so I resetted it and ran a spin cycle to allow it to come to a natural stop and opening the door. The door lock light remained on throughout, other functions works.
Am I right in assuming the door interlock is faulty?

Either that or the main board or both I would think.

My thoughts exactly.
I guess the only way to find out is to change the door interlock.
Initially the owner had a blocked drain pipe outside, it was backfilling via the sink and overflowed onto the kitchen floor.
I wonder if the drain pump was timed out and stopped the cycle, or that the owner panic by pulling the plug out of the machine to stop it caused it to malfunction. I could not interrogate the owner to find out what happened.
I will oder the new interlock and pray that it would solve the problem.
