Have had machine for 3 years, 1800 hours use, over the moon with it, I sit on my pc all day 5 feet away, and didn’t even notice it was spinning.
Then we started getting F53 error, now and again at first, then permantly.

Got an engineer out, after a lot of tests first thought it was the brushes module, ordered it, came back did a test on the motor, then said it needed a new main (tacho ?) board, priced it at over £ 400.00,

He managed to get one that came from another machine, replaced under warranty, but fault was not that board, left the new one in to keep customer happy, and kept the old one, fitted it very cheaply, all seemed well.

After he left, we tried the machine out, the vibration in the drum was so bad it dislocated the door switch module and heater wires, the drum was moving 4-5 inches diagonaly off center.

He came back and changed a few settings in the engineers menu, it sort of cured it, but can’t use it on half load, still bounces around, but nearly ok on full load. he was quite prepared to swap boards back and not charge for his time, but I’ve had to soldier on, my options are Ā£ 500 plus for a new board with labour from Miele, or a new machine at over Ā£ 1000.

I’m sure it’s a setting adrift somewhere, we’ve played around with the imbalance, damper settings ect, but even on a full load it’s still out of balance slightly.

I’m quite happy getting through the 3 menus, just need a clue of where the problem lies. i don’t really want to call out Miele if i can help it. don’t mind the Ā£ 100 fee, it’s the spares that scare.

The problem is created by lack of electrical signal between the motor and it’s speed control module. Specifically the motor’s tacho generator is not communicating with the module board that regulates the motor speed control. From what you tell us, throwing new parts at it simply hasn’t resolved the problem. Which suggests to me that greater attention be given to the connections between the 2 protagonists, might just be the way to resolve the problem perhaps? šŸ˜‰

Thanks for the quick reply, so are you saying it could be just a loose plug or something, what makes it bounce, too fast or slow, and do you know what the imbalance menu setting would be, there are 3 options, tacho, tacho + pos and another one from memory.
    thanks

    Can’t rule it out!

The former, uncontrolled excess speed applied will turn the drum into a bucking bronco in very short order, as you will no doubt concur. šŸ˜‰

Don’t these machines have a 10 year warantee?

No, not all of them. Surprisingly their hugely expensive commercial machines have an inferior warranty to an ISE10. šŸ˜‰

I never said which was best. However having an ISE10 and a Miele Little Giant PW6065 I can easily compare.

Miele is better than ISE 10 but there isn’t alot in it, however the Miele is far cleaverer (is that a word?) as in it sorts its own problems out such as sudslock.

Both good machines, but the Miele should be better there is one hell of a price difference! šŸ˜€

Strikes me the OP should really be persuing the retailer that supplied it for this, it doesn’t seem to me reasonable given the price of it… Sale of Goods Act and all that.

As you say there is a big price difference, so much so I don’t think it is fair to keep comparing them as you are doing on various threads. Little Giant cĀ£2890 or so and a 1 year commercial warranty (not sure about residential) ISE 1607W Ā£899 and 3 year commercial warranty, 10 residential. You would not compare an Ā£18,000 Toyota MX5 against a Ā£55,000 Porsche Cayman would you (or a RAV4 against a Rangerover).

Hey, don’t get me wrong, I know you know your stuff, and spent your own money on the ISE10 and you are pleased with it (like I did/am). I just think any Miele comparisons should be against a similar priced model not a commercial market one to be fair to ISE. šŸ™‚

Thanks Martin, checked all the wiring, it was all ok, went back into the menus, changed a few options back and forth, think It’s sorted out now. only really bangs a bit on a single item, it’s ok on half loads, if I activate the load sensor, it all goes wrong again, but we can live without that.
