    Hi all.

My Kenwood oven has a small fan on top and outside of the top oven/grill, it seems to be for venting warm air and nothing to do with the cooking process.

My question is, can I safely disconnect it? Despite my efforts to quieten it down it is quite noisy and stays on long after the lower oven has been turned off.

I realise it was designed with safety in mind but is it absolutely essential?

    Many thanks.

OK I just found a similar post with a reply saying that it’s dangerous to operate without the cooling fan, so unless someone posts otherwise I’ll assume that to be the case (no pun intended) 😀

    Thanks.

Your assumption is correct, it’s dangerous to remove / bypass the fan. if you look in the UK whitegoods shop you may find them available at a very good price.

    Thanks for your reply 🙂

The motor itself is silent when I take off the fan blade assembly, the noise seems to come from the rubber grommet/bearing end of the assembly. I tried some high melting point grease which helped for a while but now it’s noisy again.

Maybe it’s just one of those things to get used to and ignore, like the missus 😆

Oops., I would’nt let your missus read that, especially if she does the cooking. Lol
