ParticipantHello
I have a problem with my fridge freezer, I kept intermitantly defrosting the freezer, now it is pretty much perminant. I took the pannel off inside the freeze compartment and there was a small amount of frost on the things so I left it off and defrosted it. I have also cleaned all the grills out underneath and it worked for aprox. 12 hours. Looking on here I think I need a new PCB which is the Jazz type. Can anyone tell me how to diagnose this to be the fault?
Thanks in advance
Dick

hello dick, apart from obvious signs, a diagnosis of a pcb fault is normally arrived at by checking all other components.
why do you have to defrost the appliance?
what are the symptoms?
have you experienced any strange or different noises from it?the fault may very well be with the pcb, but first you have to eliminate everything else, unless as i say, the pcb fault is obvious.

Sorry what i meant to write was the freezer kept defrosting intermitently and was getting more frequent but now has stopped working i came down this morning and it was room temp inside fridge and freezer the radiator underneath was cold I was messing around with the door switch flicking it on and off then i heard the compressor fire up felt underneath and is slightly warm. 😆 is this good news am I looking at the pcb….
The f/f has never made any unusual noises.. however when i cleaned it e.g all rads and blew out with my compressor and defrosted it inside it did freeze the fridge compartment when i turned it back on but this was prob because it was set on coldest

a simple check:-
if the compressor starts with the door open and then shuts down when the door is closed, then you do have a pcb fault.
cheers.

Hi,
Have you heard off any problems when fitting these control module’s in regards to coding them to the correct setting? I attempted several and they would not code any higher than 25 when 28 was required.
Regards
Frank

hello frankie, 25 or 05 will suffice to reprogram this fridge.

the fridge on this model, is worked directly from the freezer.
as long as the freezer evaporator fan is working, then the fridge should work ok.
try opening the vents on the left hand side of the fridge.
is cold air coming from the vent in the top left hand side of the fridge?March 6, 2011 at 8:10 pm #343692johnsdad

program it to 05, it usually keeps the damper open for slightly longer
