Have sold a couple of hoover tumble dryers, vented and condenser, VHV VHC range over the cold winter.

    Both failed on install :rolls:

Customer refused a repair and wanted an exchange, which is undestandable to a degree.

Today just had hoover out to do a report, nothing wrong 😕 😕 😳

Then he went on to ask where was it situated ❓
What was the ambient temperature etc ❓

When i told him that it was over christmas so bloody freezing out and it was in a utility room.

‘Thats the problem too cold for it’

This must be a design fault for a tumble dryer not to work for the way it is designed for use in the winter.

I was told from this reliable source that if the display has flashing lights cuts out after a few seconds it is the thermistor below filter on the front needs warming up by your hand 😯
If it is dead completely remove lid and warm pcb up with a hairdryer 😯 😯

This is going to go down well with a customer.

First you have to place it in a nice warm room, give it a stroke with a nice warm hand on its thermistor bits, just to turn it on! 😆 😆

So no cold garages, unheated utility rooms, sheds or anyplace where it going to be too cold (which in most cases is the place where customers have the room)

I am suprised nobody else has had this complaint?

I did try and search to see if this is a known fault, could not find anything.

    Anyone else had this?

    Loads of times….see THIS THREAD

Interestingly Hoover (Gias) don’t make any reference in their user handbooks about not using their product in rooms subjected to sub zero temperatures. So no surprises there.:rolls:

Had the same last week, tumble dryer in an outside stable. It was b****y freezing in there, moved it into the kitchen and after30 mins it fired up perfectly.
Only knew that as i had read the threads about it.
