KeymasterYou know it struck me tonight and, only tonight, what that devious mob NESN could well be up to. Pity I didn’t see this sooner, but such is life.
They have so far made contact with Dave, Phil K., Jason and Mark that I know of. All the people that resigned and are high profile on either DASA or UKW. They have not contacted Kevin or myself.
They said they would contact me, but have not done so. In fact, Carole Madden said that her secretary had had been touch with me when in fact she had not. So, even despite my trying to open a dialouge with them it hasn’t happened and yet they sign up others.:? This makes me highly suspect of their motives indeed for renewing the ties, despite the fact that they will ultimately be dumping another agent to re-install the people mentioned.
So, there’s really only one conclusion to be drawn and that is that they do not wish to talk to me or Kevin really, I suspect me especailly as if they fuck it up I’d rip ’em to shreds here, Kevin would just do it on the phone.
But if you all sign up again, they win the PR battle. In fact, they win, you lose. But not only do you lose, so do many others.
Think about it, you may see what I mean and it may almost be time to blow the lid on the NESN saga.

They are certainly on the PR trail at the moment.
I have learned from my conversations with Jo Lo that they are fully aware that they are basically “Mud” in the eyes of, not only the agents but the manaufacturers/insurers as well.
There was even talk at an internal meeting apparently of rebranding the company, which wouldn’t work IMO as everyone would still know who/what they are and have done in the past.
I don’t actually think that they would be stupid enough to go around screwing any agents though, I was given the number of the guy currently covering my area (not had chance to speak to him yet, but i will :)) apparently he doesn’t want the work as he’s miles away and is doing it as a favour to NESN. That’s only here of course, that may well differ in other areas ?
I’ll be talking to her again next week when I’m back in the office and feed back any other snippets I can get.
At the moment, I have asked for a letter, signed by the directors which basically will quash any reference to the previous contract, as some of you know, I had to do a couple of calls for them recently to “gain” some information that was for Kevin’s benefit, so we now know who the “rat” is that sent the fax to Jo Lo.

But in most cases I absolutely, positively know that this is not the case.

KeymasterWell…………… what do you say.
No mention of unpaid monies which is what I am talking to them about at present. I am being nice to them but I want my invoices paying.
August 24, 2004 at 8:08 pm #115540kwatt
KeymasterWell….
What you do is this, first off pass the information to Rudolph to open the door as that way they won’t know where they’re being blind-sided from….
Oops! I already did that! :rotfl:
Then you let us at the bastards!
Oh, that’s what I’m already planning. 😉
If they want back in the game then as far as I am concerned they have to make ammends to those that they fucked over and, at this point, I strongly believe that we have to make an example of them and show that we will not be fucked about in the way that NESN did.

ModeratorRe: Beware Of Trojan Horses
Is she writting this for nesn or jackanory, I have attended every DASA meeting for the last two years and I for one have heard no mention of any strong links betwwen dasa and nesn unless dasa officers are withholding information from council.
The gist of the story so far is that they came onboard as associate members until they got what they wanted i.e. names for their network and then pissed off. This ms madden now chooses to engage in a little name dropping exercise to try and reclaim some sadly lacking credibilty for nesn.
Is’nt it interesting to see that a nesn minion’s time is charged at £400 a day where as we as heads of our own buisnesses are expected to attend nesn’s propaganda meetings at our own expense for a plate of cruddy sandwiches.
You can also see the writting on the wall as regards kick back’s to nesn for spares aquisition from nedis/seme and you can bet your life that your mark up’s will begin to disappear.
When this woman came on board nesn was left alone as regards this website, to see if things would change, and if she would try to make amends for some of the injustices that were metered out to certain member’s.
Ken even offered the olive branch to have a chat and see if we could move things on. It would appear that the olive branch has been shoved up our arses.
So it seems that nothing has been learnt and ms madden is every bit as devious as her predesessor.
I say unleash Rudolf !

August 24, 2004 at 10:30 pm #115542kwatt
KeymasterHa, Rudolph is on the case, watch this space. 😉
Ms Madden made a grevious error in the quote made on her website, apart from the fact that some of the writings point in the wrong direction by quoting the following:
“There is nothing more difficult to plan, more doubtful of success, nor more dangerous to manage, than a creation of a new order of things”
Machiavelli’s “The Prince” 1469-1527That rang alarm bells with me.
To quote Machiavelli and then take control of an endevour like NESN is a grevious error in “showing your hand”, i.e. she feels that she can control the situation. If you read the rest of her website at http://www.cmassociates.co.uk/ you will note a similar trend of control through manipulation. So, my assumption is that she feels that she can steer the situation through a control method, in this case, the control method is the flow and content of the information on offer, using molehills to create mountains and generate press. This is a well known corporate and political technique employed by many large organisations and political parties alike. Now look at Ms Madden’s history and her client list. Does it all start to become clear?
My thought, fight fire with fire. 😉
You have raised some very valid points there Del and ones that should and will be addressed in a more public place.

Philosopher of the Month
August 2002 – Niccolo Machiavelli
Peter Cave
Niccolo Machiavelli (1469-1527) was primarily a diplomat and spin-doctor, committed to enhancing the power of his native city republic, Florence. When the Medici family ousted the republicans, Machiavelli was treated with suspicion and eventually accused of plotting against the Medici.
In 1513, Machiavelli was tortured, and retired to a farm – an internal exile. There he wrote Il Principe (The Prince) – a gift for the powerful Medici. Machiavelli hoped that his exposition on how rulers should secure power would re-ignite his political career, even if in support of the princely dictators. The Prince failed in that, but brought him posthumous fame – fame as the political philosopher best known for (seemingly) being prepared to justify any means for political preservation. He later wrote the Discourses, justifying republicanism, and The Art of War, arguing for a citizen militia rather than mercenaries.
It was The Prince, though, which gave rise to the term ‘machiavellian’, for there Machiavelli advocates the use of cunning, machinations and ruthlessness – all apparently in the service of political success. It is this which is much admired these days (often off the record) by spin-doctoring politicians, salesmen, even academics ready to wield the knife for advancement. Yet is this ‘Mac the knife’ stance all there is to The Prince’s philosophy? Is it merely a handbook on how princes – and, by extension, other leaders – can gain and maintain power? Certainly, it differs radically from previous works which would recommend justice, honesty and compassion – man, as a reasoner – as the best means of securing glory. In contrast, Machiavelli admires the cruelty of Cesare Borgia, advocates treachery, and argues that in the real world leaders need to be half beasts, possessing the fox’s guile and the lion’s brutality. Machiavelli’s manly prowess – ‘virtù’ – is so different from the virtues found in Plato, Aristotle and, indeed, Christianity.
August 25, 2004 at 8:52 am #115544kwatt
KeymasterYeah, I know Machiavelli and some of his works and I do not agree with the level or means of control employed.
She should have read Plato. 😉

Well, here’s part of the reaction, some of a reply I got from Joanne today:
I’m sorry if you feel the email sent by Carole was a ‘PR exercise’ I am sure
that was not her intention. I believe her aim for NESN is to have an open
an honest approach in all areas, quite a contrast to the ‘secret squirrel’
company prior to the changes, and one I wholly agree with.So what the fuck was it then if it wasn’t a PR excercise?
I have no objection if they want to go about raising morale for the troops, but they sure as hell shouldn’t be quoting mine or my company’s names in any communication, especially given that the information was inaccurate and without asking, also as I wasn’t included in the recipients list of that email from them last week, I don’t even have an “official” right of reply.
I asked for a response from CM as well, she’s on holiday apparently for another week or two, so I will be putting it to her also.
Dave.

Why is it that we are still in the SPIN with this company. Why is it still about unpaid bills……
No matter how you dress …the class shows through.
The best of luck to all of you who work this this shower, please don’t come bleating in this forum when it goes sour again.
