Yesterday my trusty Ariston washer/dryer was taken away after nearly 11 years problem-free service, but rapidly approaching bearing failure judging by the noise, and replaced with a shiny new ISE 1607W.
I’ve never had a complaint with the Ariston’s performance, everything seemed to come out clean and with the extra rinse option selected was free of washing powder residue – or so I thought.
I’m wearing a jumper today that was in the first load through the ISE, and it feels like it just came from the shop. Not sure what it is, but definitely feels cleaner in some way. Also noticeable, with 5 rinses enabled on the ISE is that the smell I associated with clean laundry – slightly detergent-y has gone, so I’m guessing the rinse performance is way better as well.
Final thing is I’m going to have to be a lot more careful separating washing in future. The load this morning included a dark red duvet cover and pillow cases, and a cream sheet. This combination has been washed many times in the Ariston with no colour bleed. Now we have a pink sheet, and my wife has pink pyjamas – she will not be impressed 😉

Mind you pink pyjamas, very nice, she should be well pleased at the outcome I would think. Therefore enjoy the credit she will afford you when she finds out! 8)

Well, I knew that :D, but got used to the fact that with my old washer then after the first couple of washes no more dye would bleed out and I could mix things in the same wash with no unwanted consequences.
Still impressed that the ISE can wring some dye out of a duvet cover that’s been washed every couple of weeks for 3 and a half years.
Just about got away with the pink pyjamas thing. She saw the funny side, but think it might be wise to buy her a new pair this weekend!

Yup, fully agree the ISE10’s wash performance is excellent, I think things may be slightly cleaner than from my 17 year old Bosch. No complaints in this area at all.

Steering the subject back on track, if I may? On the issue of mixing dyed fabrics with light coloured/bleached fabrics. My previous post very much applies: –

Martin you do realise that the human mind cannot process a negative command,,
therefore you shout to a running child mind you don’t fall over and what is the consequence? :bounce: A fallen child of course, because while the ears heard
” mind you don’t fall”the brain processed it as
“FALL OVER”
ignoring the don’t (negative command) completely.
Thus when you wrote this..
….do not be tempted to buy THESE as they are very much frowned on by ‘us in the trade’. Suffice to say and for your own benefit, just don’t use them, they are rubbish, don’t work, cause unnecessary breakdowns etc…just don’t go there…OK?

Don’t know about anyone else’s, but I take a very dim view of anything apart from clothes, water, and washing powder being put in my washing machine after hearing some of my uncle’s stories in the past (he’s an ex-repairman).

Apart from an Affresh tablet every couple of months, then yes i totally agree with you there :tleft:
