Hi, my 11 year old Miele made some loud banging noises while running and I could smell a faint acrid smell. I stopped it and checked inside – there were no obstructions. I checked the filters for blockages etc – all was fine. I then tried to start it again and it runs for just a few seconds before stopping. When I open the door, now there is a red flashing light next to ‘inlet/outlet’. According to the manual if the machine stops just after turning it on with this flashing light it means the stop-cock is shut, but it is not.
Does anyone know what has gone wrong? And what sort of cost it might be to get an engineer to fix this type of problem?
As the machine is 11 years old, would I be better off getting a new one? Perhaps Bosch as they are better value than Miele.
Thanks for any help.
