Hi there, I have a faulty door (I have to lift it slightly and press it in to close it) on my Hotpoint RZA34 freezer and the hinges on the door don’t have normal screws, they are torx screws but I know nothing of torx sizes and I’ve already bought two screwdrivers, one a T10 and one a T15 but they are too small.

I have emailed Hotpoint a couple of times but they haven’t replied.

Is there a standard size of torx for Hotpoint goods?

    Thanks for any advice

Don’t think there’s a standard size on any appliance, they vary. If you go to your local Halfords, Maplin or Machine Mart you can buy a set of T10-T40 bits with handle for less than £10.00 & you will have all the sizes you need.

Hi Specialist01269, sorry for not replying sooner. I took your advice and managed to borrow a set of torx bits and the door is fixed thanks.

The torx bits aren’t numbers but it looks like a torx 20 bit is needed for the Hotpoint RZA34.

    Thanks again

Hi glad you got it sorted, as I said before unfortunately manufacturers don’t have a standard size & sizes may even change from the start of a production run to the end of it. Things were a lot simpler when you just had Philips / Flat screws but nowadays Torx screws are on everything.
