    Hi I have a Blomberg washing machine model 1501 AAA bought form Comet, and need to replace the rubber door seal.
    Can you help with a part number and where i can get one please?
    The Comet customer service helpline is unable to help for some reason.

    There are several variations on the theme, five actually, to be sure I’d need the numbers off the rating plate. However, the seal is available I think under part number 55X5379 at a cost of £18.89 excluding VAT and carriage but is currently out of stock with the manufacturer. 🙁

    It is described as a “sleeve” and I’m not entirely 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} convinced that that is the door seal as the spares manual for that machine is nothing short of terrible!

    How can i order the part ?
    Do you think anybody else has stock>?
    Can I use another part ? the door opening must be standard?

    Hi Jonathon,

    That part is correct and is a no-stock item with Brandt at the moment who actually made the machine for Comet. Unless anyone knows better I am not aware of any alternative that will fit. 🙁

    Dave may know, but he’s not back at his desk till Tuesday I’m afraid.

    Sadly there is no such thing as a “standard” door seal. They may be carried across a range of appliances from the same manufacturer, but that’s as far as it goes.

    You could always try Comet Accessories on 0870 6052020, but brace yourself for the price. I had to get one a few years ago for a customer and it was over £50!

    thanks very much for your help with the part no and tel for Comet accessories they do have the part and it is expensive ! ..£62.92 inc delivery.
    (I still don’t understand why comet serevice could not help?)
    Anyway I really appreciate your help in sorting this out

    Jonathan,

    The options are:

    Buy it from Comet at their, frankly, rip off price.

    Wait till it comes into stock with Brandt so we can get it for you.

    Wait and see if anyone knows of an alternative.

    Hi,

    I’ve got the exact same machine with what seems to be the same problem. What sort of time frame would be expected for this item to come into stock (weeks, months, maybe never)?

    Whilst the machine leaks a little at the moment, I can wait a month or so for the replacement part…..
