    MODEL RLA81


    chiller plate iced up 2 inch plus on plate,acting as a freezer

    any ideas please

    If that’s the one with the stat in the front edge of the lid then it’s most likely that the plastic liner has become detatched from the evaporator. The end of the thermostat phial will then not be touching the evaporator and therefore running flat out. Push on the liner on the back wall and see if it feels springy or is bowed(you may have to defrost first). If it is then its a scrapper. Otherwise, if anybody’s been at the stat wiring then check that. Unlikely to be the stat itself, they normally fail O/C. Wizard.
