ParticipantHi all
Not seen this before, rear drum bearing has usual failure but the drum shaft is part of the whole drum, rather than being held on with the three torx fixings. Surely you dont have to hacksaw it off to fit new shaft assy??

Been in production over 6 months now, more money making from merloni, you have to change the whole drum unless your good with an angle grinder :rolls:

I saw one of these drums fail just 4 months old (being used in a residential home). Indesit know the bearings and therefore drum shafts fail, how can they get away with not making the shafts changeable???? Why do we let them get away with it!!!!! 👿 (Rant over!)

What sort of idiots would buy an Indesit for a residential home. :rolls:
I would think that most bog standard dryers on the market would fail after 4 months use in these circumstances.
If the home owner/management are penny pinching to that extent then it serves them right…IMHO of course. 😉

I did one of these a while back. I drilled through the points were the screws would normally be, didnt take much drilling to remove and just screwed on a new shaft.
