the above machine will start a sensor dry cycle no problems and heats i can see the current being [pulled for full heat but within minutes it drops off and on then off again then it stays off goes to cool tumble and finishes as if its done its job and the clothes are dry which they aint
i have changed the stat kit 1703200 and checked for blockages pump does run all seems ok if tried again the same thing happens no matter how many wet clothes i put in
    thoughts?

thanks for the reply just to update i have had a further look in and found the float switch was wet and giving a readin in both states a quick blast with a hairdryer has cured that ..would i be right in assuming that in the event of a full water container the machine would just advamce through the cycle and trip out the element?
i have it on test now and will post the result but any other advice is welcome

Sort of yes, in fact the heater cuts off, the machine tumbles for 10 mins or so – cool down and then it switches off and the buzzer sounds with the ‘Empty Water Container’ LED flashing. 😛

ok my idea did not cure it still have the same fault also when i put it on timed dry it runs for the set amount of minutes but the heater is normally not pulling amps it does sometimes kick in but not for long
this is a new stat kit the only thing i am unsure of is when looking on connect they list 2 different rear thermistors are they differently rated or just the same ?

    Re: ctd 40

If I remember correctly when the water container is full & activates the float switch, it turns off the pump & heater and activates the empty container indicator. I think it does cause the timer to advance to the end, but it’s a long time isnce i’ve done 1 of these. Also don’t forget to thoroughly clean out the condenser at the base of the machine as well. Be careful of the lovely sharp edges though, they bite.
Up until Nov 2005 Elth thermistors were fitted, after that they were changed to TOD. They’re not interchangeable. TOD used from serial number: 51130.0001 & applies to front and rear thermistors.

    Hope that helps: Andy

my sn is 508220395 and the thermistor is white i cannot see anything saying tod or elth on the stat though
although a picture on connect shows a black thermistor with a raised base described as a tod you may be onto something there
think i will just order the whole set of 4 in and try again

Yep Elth & TOD are the manufacturers, looking at your serial number it looks like you need the elth thermistors.

It’s no bother mate, we’re here to help each other out, don’t forget to check the wiring harness & board connectors as well they’re noted for causing hassle.

it cant do that its a selector not a timer, it can only flash up a “cycle end” led once its finished.

    Re: ctd 40

    by timer mean programme
    update
i got an identical one of these in my pile but i have already stolen the pcb of it
i put both the thermistors of it and the element and stats of the scrap one and now it runs fine but it never finishes the sensor setting
    board fault?

    put it in bin pile?
