    Hi from a new member.

We have Siemens dishwasher Type SD13J1S The serial number is SF64A630GB/08. From this I guess that it’s a 2008 model.

It’s a narrow type, fitted inside a kitchen unit. We inherited it with the house that we’ve recently bought.

It seems to be working OK, but I’m concerned that the emptying pump is recently noisier than it should be – it makes a slight grinding noise. I’ve looked in the well underneath the gauze filter tray but I can’t see any way of opening up the pump to see if there’s something inside the impeller cavity.

Our last dishwasher had a plastic clip-on cover over the impeller – this one doesn’t seem to have this.

Can anyone tell me whether I can get at the pump impeller from inside the machine, please?

SF64A630GB/08 is the ENr or ‘model numbr. There should be an FD **** somewhere in the same area as where you found the ENr number….post this and we can give you the manafacturing date. My guess is that its a bit older than 2008……probably early to mid 2000’s .

As to acessing the drain pump , it can only be got at through the bottom front edge cover plate and isn’t the easiest thing to get to or replace.

Thanks very much for your response, nomadPaul. The FD number seems to be 8209, although on the same line of the plate as that (but some distance from it) is also the number 590016.

I hope that’s of some help.

Thanks for identifying access to the pump. Just my luck!! I think I’ll have to take the machine out to get the front plate off.

nomadPaul and anyone else: I must apologise that this thread is based on an inaccurate report of my machine’s behaviour.

Please see my new thread for a question based on correct information:
