Non-subscribers may have noticed a thread running in the Subscriber Forum for the above recently.

Essentially what this is is a survey of you guys to show up the good, the bad and the downright ugly in our industry giving you the oportunity to tell people what you think is good or bad in the way of appliances. For the first run I’m keeping it pretty simple and restricted to 50 brand names we all know and love, or not!

So rather than mumping and moaning about all the rubbish that’s out there and why we don’t like them at length let’s show the industry and the general public what we think, using cold hard facts and figures.

This poll will only run for a set period from launch, probably a month or two, which I’m hoping will be in play within the next week or so as it’s a LOT of work to build it up.

I have some ideas in my head on what to do with it in the longer term, but for now we just have to get the votes in. I still have to discuss this with a couple of people but the voting should be limited to one go at it per trade account, so it should remain very accurate.

Any ideas and thoughts you have on this will be welcome and, let’s face it, we know more about domestic appliances than “Which” ever will. 😉

    Re: The Engineer’s Opinon – 2

Well, I’ve just noticed in the public forum that a customer has changed her mind and cancelled an order for one washing manufacturer in preference to another after being given some sound advice by one of the guys.

So, our opinions and knowledge are taken on board by the general public and we can have some sway on their choices with “the engineers opinion”, it should make some interesting reading when results start to come back.

    Dave.
