Hi went to this m/c today ,blowing the trip after 2/3 mins
Took htr cover off ,running with water,thought it must be a blockage so pulled the pump out ,everything fine
When i put the pump back in, it sucks it dry then pump switches off, the water in the pipe comes back into the chamber and the fan below the heater sucks it through, 2min later trip pops
I can understand why that water comes down the tube when the pump stops but why does the fan then suck it out off the pump basin and into the air flow towards the htrConfused Dave

There is only a very nominal amount of water in the hose from the pump to the water container (or optional drain hose) when the pump stops. In real terms about half a teacup in total and not enough to flood the pump chamber or operate the float switch.
I take it the water flows into the container OK? That the base behind the condenser to the pump chamber clean and clear of any fluff debris? The front fan air intake clear? Is the pump noisy when it runs (should be pretty quiet actually)?

ParticipantThanks for the reply ,it is only a small amount of water that comes into the chamber ,but that water is then dragged up into the heater by the fan you can see the water in the chamber with the cover off being sucked out of the chamber and being sprayed onto the heater

I cannot figure what you are telling me TBH. 😕 But then I’ve not experienced such a fault before and cannot fathom how, unless the pump wasn’t doing it’s job, water would get sucked up by the fan like that?
To test the efficiency of the pump I remove the water container, tip the machine back slightly and pour a glass of water into the empty housing. The water then drains down via the overflow pipe at the back and down into the pump chamber. Stand m/c upright, replace the water container and switch on. Within seconds that quantity of water should immediately pump back up and into the water container. Empty container back into the glass…viola, pump doing its job and no blockages the conclusion.
Can you do that with your machine I wonder?

I didnt measure water but it was comming out in a nice steady flow
but when pump stopped some water flowed back into chamber and was sucked out by the fan. If you watched carefully you could see droplets being sucked upwards onto htr

Then I’m stumped on that one Dave, I’ve no idea how it could possibly do that? Unless there’s a possible sealing issue with the condenser matrix? Beyond that I can’t think of anything left to check…sorry. 🙁
