Participantproblem with my 3 year old zanussi zenb9950si fridge freezer, in october 2010 freezer evaporator not defrosting causing warm fridge. will work for 3 weeks then needs to be defrosted.
4 engineers from comet/one call diagnosed and changed main control panel circuit board and rear circuit board (by compressor) others just told us to defrost and it will work ok !!!
comet/one call have now decided after 6 months to return money and give up on fault, the last engineer (the only one who used his meter) states its the evaporator sensors but comet say parts are no longer available so money returned.
sad thing is the parts are available online their just bullshitting me.!!
CAN ANYONE SUGGEST A GOOD tall 50/50 FRIDGE FREEZER i know beko are reasonable and cheap but are their any other better.
thank youMarch 3, 2011 at 11:35 pm #346204kwatt
KeymasterCan you give me the PNC number from the rating plate?
Spares for any Electrolux Group product should be available, for at least six years from date of last production so I don’t get that at all.
As for a good fridge freezer, it’s like most things, there’s good and there’s cheap. Everything in between is a compromise of some sort.

Hi.
Most likely, this has an open circuit defrost heater (usually 200ish Ohms using a suitable test meter) or the NTC sensors are out of calibration. I assume that both doors are sealing fully?
Power off when checking the defrost heater but be warned that either one of these is rather fiddly & you may be best to leave it to an engineer rather than Butch & Sundance. 😉

Thanks, doors seals ok also i checked the defrost heater before i called out comet i remember it was not open circuit and showing a resistance.
i can see one white sensor on evaporator front this i checked to see if it was working with a meter and applying ice and it showed a change in resistance i gather there is another at back of evaporator ?.
also i was told that there is a calibration sensor setup by pressing certain buttons on main control panel ?.
thank you -
