Hi, all I’m a newbe I have a question I would like to ask I hope you can help. I have one of the above machines Model number CL382WV the trouble I’ve got is the machine works fine on low heat but as soon as I switch it to high heat it trips out the electric in the house it runs forever on low heat but only for about two minutes on high heat could this be the Thermostat or possibly the heating element I hope it’s only something like this as I don’t want to have to throw it away as it’s a good machine any help would be much appreciated. ❓

Hi: Your Dryer has an open wound element, it’s quite possible that one part of the element has broken & is touching Earth. You would need to open the machine to check this, if you don’t feel confident in doing this then please take a look at the repairs@ feature for an Engineer in your area.

I have a CL767 Model – The drum has stopped rotating but there is still a whirring sound so I think it may be the carbon bushes in the motor – I have disconected from the mains – I have had the lid off and replaced it as I can’t see the motor from there – I have the avocado shaped metal cover on the back of it removed at the moment but still can’t see the motor from there – Where do I go from here ?….. 🙂

Probably the element shorted.
It should be this heating element in that tumble dryer:

You should be able to check it with a meter though.

I have put it back together – I had a word with my neighbour Paul who said that he had a problem with his and it was the starter condenser – And from an earlier post on here I tried to spin the drum and shut the door – The dryer works OK untill it stops to go the other way – So I have to repeat the the procedure of spin and shut lol – My neighbour is the owner of Bradford Business Machines of Cleckheaton – And he has some condensers which he knows more about than me….

We in the trade call them CAPACITORS and IIRC? one for that model is rated at 8 microfarad (8mf) and will cure the problem I’m sure. :tup:

It was the wire to the condenser – It had arced and burnt the wire – Just bared the end of the wire – stuck it in the hole in the prong on the condenser and shoved the clip over it to hold it in – put it all back together and it works fine now – Thankyou – this is a good site to be on I’m glad I found it… 😆 😀
