Did it stop mid cycle with a burning smell ? or did it just not start a cycle & smell of burning.

    Hiya

thanks for getting back to me so quick

it was working fine – then – one day I turned it on – it did a BANG AND A FLASH -happened and then just a burning smell – now it doesnt work on any program

but it lights up so the fuse works – just nothing else

is there anything I can check on it – for damage ?

Ive checked the motor brushes and there is about 20 mm on them they look new – about an “inch” of carbon brush is present on each brush

it is only about 2 years old

any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    cheers

Hi: Please be aware that the Electronics on these machines are notoriously bad & it is possible for them to blow for no reason.

PLEASE REMEMBER: POWER OFF & PLUG OUT BEFORE DELVING IN, A :zap: can kill.

If you remove the top cover & look where the mains flex enters the machine, to 1 side of it you will find the mains filter. Can you check that the top of this is not bulged or blown out.
