Hi to all. I own a hotpoint ariston lft 114 dishwasher for 2 years. I was working properly and one day suddenly it just stopped. No LED flashing no nothing. I used a voltage meter and I measured the power after the fuse that it has after the cable and before the circuits and it sems that power is going to the maschine. Any idea of the problem???

    Thanks in advance

can be the module, if it has burnt out then the heater may have blown it. otherwise may be display board

as far as i have read the error codes if the heater is dead then you see 2 flashing LEDs. So i guess the pcb or display board. Is there a way to find out using a voltage meter?

The real problem is that your Hotpoint/Ariston is actually an Indesit machine. A low end product with lots of reliability problems, heaters, main circulation pumps, PCB’s etc.

As you appear to be posting from Greece then some of the technical information available here in the UK may not apply to your appliance unless it was sourced from here. It is not really possible to test the PCB’s with a voltage meter. In fact live testing should not be undertaken at all. All components and wiring can be tested using a megger or suitable multimeter with the machine isolated from the mains supply.

well i know its an indesit crap! If it was in my hand I would go for a bosch or at least pitsos (bosch-siemens-pitsos group). But it came to me as a present buyed in Italy. What made me nearvous and desided to try fix it on my own was that I called the service of indesit in Athens and the technitian just came, saw it and said: “yeah you are right, its not working. we have to take it to the service”. (you must be kidding! its not working??? I just invited you for a coffee!) He didnt even see if it was fused in my house fuse! and took me 40 euros 🙁

Hello again. Sorry to bother you but i am really confused. I changed a resistror which was burn at the pcb, changed the heating element which had rust (both with a “friend’s” help) and all worked fine untill i placed the dishwaser into the cabinet and it shows me an error about the pressostat. Before I put it all together the self test was working perfect. Just when I screw the dishwasher and placed it the problem occured and the error code is LED 1 and 3 flashing. Is there a possibility that the error is caused because the machine was upside down for 3-4 days? I mean it was emply of water and maybe air was gone somewhere in the pipes? Dont know, my knowledge about plumbing is not that good.

You should never tip machines upside down. Even the smallest amount of water inside the pipes can get into places it should not. This may have damaged the pressure switch.

actually i think (not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}, but almost sure) that the manual was saying to do it in order to change the heating element

Whilst the pictures in the manuals may show the components from underneath it does not say turn the machine upside down.

Lie it on its back or side but don’t invert it completely.

    actually it says.

    Washing Electro-pump
    1. Turn the machine upside-down.
    2. Unhook the basket
    3. Unhook the floating-ball
    4. Unfasten the tape using pliers
    ……
    ……

Anyway I just blew to the small pipe to the pressostat, obviously water was blocking it and now it works fine.

Ah, you may be looking at the Indesit manual, not the Hotpoint one. 😉

Still best not to up end them. 🙂

Glad to hear you have sorted it. 8)
