    The main board (bottom Front)on this machine has blown across from a capacitor labelled CR1 and a chip IC1 on the board. Ive isolated the capacitor and it tests at its rated value of 100mF. The machine had just finished a heavy wash cycle completely and just failed to start next wash cycle. There is power to the machine on/off switch but that as far as it goes. Interlock is dead.Not sure what this part of the board does(power supply to board?) so would like to cause of this problem before replacing board.

    Hi John: Any chance of you posting up a Picture of the PCB? If you can trace the tracks from the chip to the board connector it feeds, you should be able to find what blew it.

    If interlock is dead, it could be that it has shorted internally. This often takes out part of board; though I haven’t yet seen this model.

    Hi thanks for suggestions, have looked at interlock but it checks out electrically ok. Connections for Door interlock are at other end of board and are not damaged. As far as I can see the only edge connection on this, are related to a washer drier which this machine is not. Trying to upload photos of board and damage but not quite sure how to do it on this site.

    Hi, just a quick follow up on this,

    Sent module of to QER, managed to get it repaired. They said Problem was probably caused my a drop of water shorting across tracks. This knocked out the chip and hence the power to the board How a small amount of water got into the PCB housing I cant work out. All though PCb is situated in front of machine under door gasket it is well covered.Machine is not leaking nor gasket damaged??

    First of all you need the image on your PC.

    Compose your post and then scroll down and look just under the posting box and you will two tabs, Options & Upload attachments.
    Click Upload Attachments then click Browse, navigate to the file on your PC, select and click ‘Add the file’

    If the file is to big or is not in an acceptable format you will get a warning.

    If it is Ok then Submit your post and an image will be displayed within your post, clicking on the image will open it up to fit the screen.

    Hi Jim, I did find the upload attachments, think maybe my photo was a bit on large size Mb wise! Next time I get a “visual” problem I’ll try again.

    THIS image I uploaded is approx 590kb. If you click on that it will go slightly off the screen unless you have a large monitor.

    If you aim for a jpeg of around 250 to 300 kb that should fit nicely and also save room on the server. 😉
